Compassionate, Respectful, and Equitable Care Project
On May 17th and June 1st, 2023, representatives from more than 57 organizations and health systems learned from experts about strategies to ensure Compassionate, Respectful, and Equitable Care during informative webinar sessions. Panelists shared both challenges and successes in addressing what is needed to close the race-based disparities in maternity care outcomes, including accurate data, the importance of the patient voice, community linkages, and addressing heath related social needs. The strategies shared during the webinar is are in alignment with the focus of the Joint Commission Health Care Equity standards, a quality and safety priority, beginning July 1, 2023.

OPQC webinars have reached hundreds of attendees from states such as Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, and Ohio. Topics have included Antenatal Corticosteroids, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), and Progesterone as an intervention for preterm birth.
